Our beach trip!

As some of you know (mostly my twitter followers), I recently got back from a trip to Panama City Beach, FL. We usually go every year and had already been once a few months ago, but something about the weather and the ocean was extra pretty this time. The water was so unusually calm the first few days we were there which made it super easy to spot lots of cool ocean critters-- We saw stingrays and even a manatee! It was so fun. Here are a few photos of our trip!

Men Fashion: Follow Your Own Style Revisit

I realized that more and more men today are focus on fashion and style, knowing looking good is an asset in every aspect of their lives: Business, personal or, social. The fact is, a well groomed man is as important as his personality. In fact, most of you should agreed with me that first impression always count. How to get a stylish look your comfortable with Some men feel confident enough to do this for themselves, for those who are less confident an image consultant can be employed, to give help and advice. Alternatively, cheaper way is to learn from the web.

Men Fashion & Style

In today's world, to stay one step ahead, it's important to look your best. That means developing your own sense of style and this does not simply mean following fashions and trends for the sake of it. There is a big difference between being stylish and just following the latest men's fashion trends for the sake of them. A man fashion victim is someone who wants follow all the latest men's fashion trends regardless of whether they suit their body shape looks or, age and is someone who can't put his look together. Looking your best does require a certain amount of effort, but ultimately, your clothes have to fit right, and suit your style, image and personality. As I mentioned before, it's not about the clothes you wear -- it's about how you wear them. There are enough styles out there, so I am sure you are comfortable finding your own style.

Be yourself

I always belief Wear what you think looks good, not what you believe is trendy. You should always feel comfortable with what you're wearing, so stick to items that suit your personality and style, while keeping the occasion and setting in mind. The key with men's fashion is always to match it to your personality, age and personal features. Keep a good balance of basic and fashionable clothes in your wardrobe. As a rule of thumb, not more than half of your wardrobe should not consist of trendy clothes, or worse, clothes that are out of style. Finally, brand is always trendy and style, but it sometimes doesn't mean it will look good on you. So don't follow blindly.

NARS Nail Polish in Orgasm

I've been curious about this stuff for quite a while-- LOVE the blush and lip gloss. Not quite sure why it took me so long to give the nail polish a go. Like the other products of the same name, this surely did not disappoint. Very opaque after 2 coats and warranted lots of compliments! Definitely a winner in my book.

Movie Review: Bruno

Nothing much special lately, just managed to catch up with friends at Starbuck as well as catching up with few movies lately.

If your memory served you well, I am sure you still remember this show called Bruno. Yes!! I thought bought myself some laugh and ended up with this show. So thought of sharing some review with some of you here.

I would consider this as pervasive strong and crude sexual content, graphic nudity and language.

Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Alice Evans, Trishelle Cannatella, Sandra Seeling, and Ben Youcef

Story line is talking about this guy, Bruno, after being ousted from the fashion community during a hi-profile mishap on a Milan runway, the uber-famous fashion correspondent, Bruno, heads to the U.S. to try and straighten himself out.

So if you think of getting yourself a laugh, this is not a bad choice after all.

Amazing Argan Oil

So this is a more "hardcore" review... almost 2 months in the making!
Over the past few months I've been using a new product that I'm so excited about. I had heard of Argan Oil, but I wasn't really sure what to do with it. In my mind, it was simply a body moisturizer. Got plenty of those. Nothing I thought I needed. So when I first got the Argan Oil by Josie Maran Cosmetics, it honestly sat on the shelf for a few weeks. It was something new that I wasn't quite familiar with and had no plan on how to use it. When I started experimenting with it and read up on it's benefits, I realized that it is truly a multi-use product. So first of all, I started using it as a body moisturizer. I used it around areas that tend to get really dry like my elbows. It absorbed super quick and left no residue. Then my mind started working--- CUTICLES. Yes!! I would try it on my cuticles. So I did and I was completely impressed. As with a lot of typical products as labeled as actual "cuticle oil", I get great moisturization and results, but it takes a little while to absorb. With this, it absorbs super quickly so I can literally apply it right before walking out the door, rub it in quickly, and get on with my life without oily fingers. Best part is that I get the same moisturizing results and my cuticles are lookin' super healthy.
Now my absolute FAVORITE use for this is as a hair treatment. I color my hair a lil' bit...I'm not gonna lie. With that comes damage, but I feel that there are ways that you can give your hair the moisturization it needs and keep it healthy. So I've been using this oil to give my hair a little treat. I've done this several different ways-- There really are no rules when it comes to this stuff. If I use it on damp hair, I'll rub a few drops between my fingers and apply it to the ends of my hair only. That way when I dry it, it retains it's volume at the roots, but looks nice and healthy on the ends. For more intense moisturization, I'll apply it generously to dry hair. Make sure you reserve this ritual for lazy days at home, or even overnight. Sometimes, if I don't have time for this, I'll apply it as soon as I wake up to my dry hair just as before, but I'll leave it in for about 30 minutes, then shampoo and condition as usual. It really is an amazingly effective product for hair.
Of course, as I said before, you can use this as a body moisturizer. On especially dry areas, or in lieu of your regular lotion.
Besides being incredibly effective, an extra little "feel good" to this product is that it is 100% organic. Totally and completely 100% organic Argan Oil-- Only one ingredient. It also has virtually no scent which to me, is huge. When you first apply it, it has a slight natural almost herbal scent, but when it's rubbed in, the scent pretty much disappears.
The most amazing thing about this product though is that you can literally use it all over your body and it delivers amazing moisturization. However, it leaves no oily residue on the skin which normally occurs with an oil. It also makes my skin look incredibly glowy and healthy.
I'm addicted. My body lotion hasn't gotten any action in a month because of this stuff.

This is honestly something that is totally multi-use. Yeah, at $48, it seems a bit pricey, but when you think of all it does, it's totally worth it. It's like a hair treatment, body moisturizer, cuticle oil, etc. all in one. So it saves counter space too. Which for a product junkie like me, is always a good thing! =)

You can find this product at Sephora or on josiemarancosmetics.com.

Dark Room: Possibly Fall's best nail color...

8/14

...in my opinion, of course :)

I swear, Sephora by OPI is still impressing me. I've yet to be disappointed by a single shade and formula. It's like the best of the OPI formulas...but with the better, smaller -ahem- NORMAL SIZED brush (we all know how much I hate the OPI wide ones...just unecessary). Anyway, This is by far my favorite shade yet! So unique and opaque. I honestly could have gotten away with one coat, but 2 made it completely opaque and streak free. This photo is of Dark Room used with absolutely no base or top coat (I was in a hurry).

Man Fashion: Relax Fit Trends in Fall/Winter?

Started from women fashion trends, shrinking fashion has since moved away from women fashion trend and hit man fashion world.

In the past few years, it seems that designers have had some strange inside joke going with the creation of skinny jeans, shrinking suits, and the vanishing break of men's trousers, making the likes of Thom Browne a fashion legend. Or maybe designers are simply prescribing their own belt tightening in this uncertain economy by using less fabric. Many embraced this 'restricted' fit, but others who braved the look for the sake of fashion were left holding our collective breathe, hoping not to put someone's eye out with a button projectile from our snug blazers.

Well if fashion forecast are correct, it appears relief may be in sight. This Fall/Winter fashion trends are showing a more relaxed fit. This doesn't mean that fashion designers are go back to the baggy, saggy ways of old. Instead, we are seeing a more appropriate relaxed fit that personifies an easy comfort that promotes physical fitness. Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Ralph Lauren are just a few of the designers who are relaxing things a bit for the fall. This, in my opinion, makes it easy to incorporate these looks in your signature style.

Man Fashion Trends for Fall 2009

Even men's clothing style rarely makes dramatic leaps into the unknown, they do make subtle changes each fashion season. Let see what's hot for coming Fall season.

Outerwear:

Opt for a relax-fitting, classic trench coat and/or a slim-fit, sturdy peacoat in black, charcoal gray, or tan. These two staples are definitely worth the money you would spend on them.

If you are a man who likes that edgier look, go for a subtle, structured fatigue jacket. The fatigue jackets in brown leather and gray suede pictured below will look very sharp when paired with jeans and a Henley tee for a weekend look.

Blazers:

This season blazers are multi-functional with a crisper look. The blazers are sporting elbow patches, gold buttons, smaller flap pockets, and no lapels.

Some blazers also come with heavier, quilted linings for those very cold November nights, and some are reversible for 'more bang for your buck.

Plaid Dress Shirts:

This season plaid dress shirt focus on white, blue, and striped shirts: remember to keep this simple, sharply tailored, and subtle.

The main theme of these plaid dress shirts must able to dressed up or down. when paired with a solid or downplayed tie, blazer or suit with the same color scheme, this look works.
